Yaù ’Wuìk̓inux̌v Nation,

Chief and Council have made the decision to postpone the 2026 Nanakila Annual Meeting to allow additional time to address several important governance priorities.

Over the past year, a number of resolutions and action items were brought forward by membership during the previous Annual Meeting. Chief and Council are continuing to work through these matters and want to ensure sufficient progress has been made before reporting back to membership and seeking further direction.

In addition, ongoing governance initiatives and other key Nation priorities require focused attention over the coming months. Postponing the Annual Meeting will provide Chief and Council with the opportunity to advance this work and return with more comprehensive updates and recommendations.

At this time, the proposed dates for the Nanakila Annual Meeting are October 12–15, 2026. Administration is currently exploring venue options, with Campbell River and Port Hardy being considered as potential host locations.

Further details, including the confirmed location, agenda, registration information, and travel arrangements, will be shared with membership once planning is finalized.

Chief and Council appreciate the membership's patience and understanding as they continue this important work on behalf of the Nation.

Warm regards,

Malista Hanuse
