While You Are Here
Our village sits in the wilderness, surrounded by both grizzly and black bears - a familiar presence in community life. Our community guardians and dogs help keep everyone safe.
There are two privately owned convenience stores in the village, though stock is limited. Given our remote location, we recommend packing everything you need for your stay - and then some. Weather can extend travel timelines unexpectedly, so bring any medications, personal essentials, and favourite comforts to cover a few extra days just in case.
Moving Through the Community
We ask all guests to be mindful while travelling in K̓itit:
- Speed limits: 15 km/hr within the village; 25 km/hr on the backroad. Please watch for pedestrians, children playing, off-leash pets, and wildlife.
- Local VHF Radio: Channel 6 (General Chat) | Channel 8 (Less public general chat) | Channel 12 (Health Emergencies)
