Yaù ’Wuìk̓inux̌v Nation,

Jordan's Principle – Cultural Support Letters for Children

Wuìk̓inux̌v Nation's Education Department is supporting families in accessing Jordan's Principle funding for their children through individualized cultural support letters.

These letters, prepared by our Education Director, identify each child's cultural and developmental needs and recommend participation in Wuìk̓inux̌v language and land-based programming — including the Language Nest, Elder-guided harvesting and fishing activities, and intergenerational learning opportunities.

Jordan's Principle is a child-first funding principle that ensures First Nations children can access the supports they need without delay.

For our community, that means ensuring every child has the opportunity to connect with their language, land, and culture — the foundation of their identity, wellbeing, and belonging.
